The 1849-O Seated Liberty Quarter (Buy on eBay) represents one of the scarcest issues of the series. The exact mintage of the issue is unknown, but has been estimated at 16,000 pieces. These coins are believed to have been included in the first delivery of 1850-O quarters. The extremely low survival rate of the issue supports the estimated mintage. The issue is rare across all grades and particularly rare in mint state.
Current population reports show just seven examples of the issue in uncirculated condition. The finest known example graded NGC MS-64 realized a price of $24,675 at auction in 2015.
